Samuel Crockett, 28th Ordnance Co., 192nd Ordnance Battalion (EOD), will be awarded the Silver Star Medal Tuesday, April 8 at Fort Benning, Ga. for his heroism during a Taliban attack on Oct. 5, 2013 while deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. " It is an honor to receive it from the (75th Ranger Regiment) regiment. I am happy that they feel like I deserve it."

Col. Marue Quick and Command Sgt. Maj. Harold Dunn received the Bronze Star Medal on December 15, 2013 from International Security Assistance Force Joint Command deputy commander for separates, Brig. Gen. James Blackburn, in recognition of their leadership accomplishments as the commander and senior enlisted leader of Combined Joint Task Force Paladin.

63rd Ordnance Battalion - NCO and Soldier of the Quarter Competition

Soldiers of the 63d OD BN (EOD) participated in the NCO/Soldier of the Quarter Competition on December 2-4, 2013 at U.S. Army Fort Drum & 10th Mountain Division. Sgt. Joshua Edmons of the 38th OD CO was named the NCO of the Quarter, along with Spc. Kyle Schulties of the 725th OD CO as the Soldier of the Quarter. The Soldiers completed an APFT, land navigation course, M4 weapon qualification, evaluation of a casualty, ruck march, written test, and board evaluation.

The 20th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE) Command integrates, coordinates, deploys, and provides trained and ready CBRNE forces. Capable of exercising command and control of specialized CBRNE operations to support Joint and Army force commanders primarily for overseas contingencies and warfighting operations, but also in support of homeland defense. Maintains technical links with appropriate Joint, Army, Federal and State CBRNE assets, as well as the research, development, and technical communities to assure Army CBRNE response readiness.
